On 14 November, the University of Warsaw hosted a hybrid Networking Event dedicated to students and graduates of the Sustainable Development programme and the MERGED – Global Environment and Development programme, both offered by the University Centre for Environmental Studies and Sustainable Development (UCBS).
The event brought together over 40 participants from 19 countries, representing academia, NGOs, the private sector, and partner institutions. The aim of the event was to strengthen the link between academic learning and professional practice, as well as to foster collaboration between students, alumni, employers, and institutions working in the field of sustainable development. Participants had the opportunity to learn about current sustainability initiatives, exchange experiences, and discuss emerging challenges and opportunities for future cooperation. The meeting also highlighted the achievements of UCBS graduates, many of whom are now recognised experts and practitioners in the field, demonstrating how academic education and real-world experience can work together to drive positive change. The event featured speakers representing both national and international organisations:
- Institute for Sustainable Development Foundation – Dr Wojciech Szymalski
- Envirly – Dr Weronika Czaplewska
- Envirly – Daria Trufanova
- Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM) – Michał Kulpiński
- Danone Poland – Arkadiusz Żmudziński
- Danone Poland – Berenika Pel
- Copenhagen Fashion Week – Kinga Kopka (online)
- Independent Consultant – Gabriella Uberna (online)
The event created a valuable space for knowledge sharing, inspiration, and networking, laying the groundwork for future collaboration and joint efforts in the area of sustainable development.
