The Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission invites Master’s and PhD students of life sciences, biophysics and medical fields of study to submit applications for the BioLAB 2025-26 Program. The call for applications lasts until February 1, 2025.

The BioLAB program allows to complete a one-year research internship in a laboratory located in one of four institutions in the US:

• University of Virginia, Charlottesville
• University of Chicago, Chicago
• University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas
• Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Oklahoma City

During the internship, students conduct independent research in laboratories. Results of the research are often published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. In addition, students take an active part in the life of the host institution, participate in seminars, guest lectures and learn about American culture. In some cases, students have the opportunity to use the research results for their Master’s/PhD dissertation at their home university.

Participation in the Program includes:

• Scholarship in amount of $28,000 – $35,000
• Full medical insurance 
• Assistance in obtaining an F-1 or J-1 visa for a stay in the US (the cost of SEVIS number and issuing a visa is covered by the student)
• Pre-departure orientation conducted by the Fulbright Commission staff and alumni of the program
• Help during the program offered by the host insitution’s representatives

Student who would like to apply should:

• Meet the formal requirements for an F-1 or J-1 visa,
• Study life sciences, biophysics or medical fields of study (biology, pharmacy, biophysics, medicine, etc.),  
• Hold, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree (licencjat/inżynier degree if the studies were completed in Poland) and at the time of interview (March 2025) will be a student of a Master’s or PhD degree at a Polish university or research institution and maintain an active student status during the program,
• Obtained a high GPA (recommended – 4.0 or higher),
• Demonstrate knowledge of English at the proficiency level (minimum B2).

IMPORTANT: International students must have completed the undergraduate degree (Licencjat or Inżynier) in a Polish university.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Warsaw presents its compliments to all Polish Higher Education Institution and has the honor to inform the latter about the opening of the Darmasiswa Indonesian Scholarship.

The Darmasiswa Indonesian Scholarship is a one-year non-degree scholarship program offered by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to all non-Indonesian citizens to study Indonesian language, arts, music, crafts and other specific subjects at 72 Indonesian Higher Education Institutions selected in various cities in Indonesia. This program is organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The main objective of the DARMASISWA program is to increase and cultivate interest in Indonesian language and Indonesian culture among citizens from other countries. It also designed to increase mutual understanding and provide stronger cultural bonds between different nations.

The EIB Summer School 2023 „Exploring the EU Climate Bank” – 27 June – 7 July 2023 – is a fully on-site event in Luxembourg for Master’s students from all academic fields with an interest in sustainability, climate change and the environment as well as students with a background in engineering and other hard or life sciences. All participants shall have a substantial understanding of the functioning of European institutions and a basic understanding of finance banking.

ARCHELON, a nonprofit conservation organization active since 1983, runs a number of volunteer projects for the protection of sea turtles and their habitats in Greece every year. The projects are taking place in 8 locations which are the main sea turtle nesting beaches and feeding grounds in Greece as well as at ARCHELON’s Sea Turtle Rescue Centre, near Athens.

More than 500 volunteers from many countries across the globe participate in their projects every year, including about 30 field leaders. ARCHELON enters into internship agreements with 70 Universities and other educational establishments from all over the world every year.

For 2023 They are offering 9 project opportunities for full time volunteers as well as 8 project opportunities for field leaders and will welcome internships for both types of participation. Please find more information attached:

The rules of short-term mixed practices were published on the BWZ website, which on May 16 this year have been approved by the appropriate Vice-Rector http://bwz.uw.edu.pl/praktyki-krotkoterminowe-erasmus-2021-2022-oraz-2022-2023/

Short-term short-term mixed practices are new to Erasmus +, where the physical part of the mobility can last from 5 to 30 days and, in the case of first cycle, second cycle or long cycle studies, must be combined with virtual activities.

Zachęcamy do zapoznania się z ofertą kursów online dla uczelni partnerskich, skierowanych do studentów kierunków przyrodniczych, przede wszystkim biologicznych (Online Lectures in Biosciences) przygotowanych przez uniwersytet w Heidelbergu w ramach sojuszu 4EU+. Liczba miejsc na zajęcia jest ograniczona, a rekrutacja trwa do 2 kwietnia.

Ważna informacja: studenci będą mogli uczestniczyć w zajęciach jako “guest students”, nie przejdą procesu rekrutacji i nie otrzymają oficjalnego dokumentu, poświadczającego ich udział i zdobyte punkty ECTS – transcript of records. Po ukończeniu kursu studenci otrzymają natomiast certyfikat, przyznający punkty ECTS (2 ECTS za jeden przedmiot).

Do 20 marca trwa nabór studentów na szkołę wiosenną “The Making of EU Environmental Regulation: Processes, Actors, and Tools of Implementing the Climate Action Strategy of the European Green Deal”, która będzie realizowana online w trzech blokach zajęć, od 21 kwietnia do 14 maja.

Szkoła wiosenna realizowana jest w ramach wspólnego projektu edukacyjnego 4EU+ “Towards a European School of Environmental Economics & Policy”, koordynowanego przez wykładowców z Uniwersytetu w Heidelbergu.

Program szkoły wiosennej skierowany jest do studentów studiów magisterskich i doktorantów (kierunki: ekonomia, nauki polityczne i studia międzynarodowe, międzywydziałowe studia ochrony środowiska i inne pokrewne kierunki).

Zajęcia będą odbywać się w języku angielskim i będą prowadzone przez wykładowców z pięciu uczelni Sojuszu.

Wykładowcy: Søren Bøye Olsen (Uniwersytet Kopenhaski), Timo Goeschl (Uniwersytet w Heidelbergu), Vilém Novotný (Uniwersytet Karola w Pradze), Marzio Galeotti (Uniwersytet Mediolański), Tomasz Żylicz (Uniwersytet Warszawski).
